This Summer was filled with a little less blogging and a lot more living. I spent time working on weddings, styling hair, dressing brides and grooms, visiting family and the list goes on. Summer was absolutely amazing but I am looking forward to Fall and the beautiful colours that come with it, both in nature and in fashion.

Scrolling back through the photos on my phone, here is a little pictorial summary of what I did this Summer.

I participated in the Relay for Life in Wainwright with my team, the Believers and we raised, $6,241 for Cancer Research. I am a little bit competitive when it comes to raising money for a good cause (is that a bad thing?) and I have to thank my friends and followers as $1,730 came from you.

I spent a day playing 18 holes at the Belvedere Golf and Country Club for the Kevin Karius Golf Classic. I met some wonderful people and ran into a few familiar faces (Yudit from Advanced Skin Care Clinic). This year the tournament raised over $104,000 for the Easter Seals of Alberta.

I spent a lot of time visiting with family and friends in Vancouver and on the Westcoast. My cousin Jane who is an amazing chef became a mother to baby Harvey, which gives me just one more reason to visit more often.

While in Vancouver, I indulged in a few beverages and a lot of food, I normally would never admit to this but I had pizza not once, but twice in one stay from Pizzaria Barbarella. It is that good!

If you have never heard of the band Chasing Satellites, look them up. I had the privilege of listening and watching them record in Nanaimo, BC. They are a talented group that is bringing back rock with well written lyrics and a lead singer that has been described as having the looks, the moves and the pipes.

While visiting baby Harvey, back in Vancouver I ate and drank some more at 33 Acres Brewing Co. Next time I’m out to the Westcoast I will make a point of visiting again. They offer a range of their own brew and a selection of delectable snacks and sandwiches, they had me at the word “Charcuterie.”

With all the travel and the fun, summer is Wedding Season and I worked with so many amazing couples and their families. I created a bounty of updo’s and outfitted brides, grooms and their parents. It was busy and a little bit chaotic at times but weddings and hair are my two passions and on the BIG day they come together in one place.

If I haven’t talked enough about food throughout my summer, I will make one last mention. For my birthday, my friend Anne, put together an amazing celebration that included a beautiful red velvet cake from the Art of Cake, which was served with Edmonton’s locally produced Pinocchio Ice Cream.

With all of my spare time between weddings and hair appointments, I spend many weekends and evenings working with Edmonton’s Capital City Burlesque as their rehearsal director/stage manager extraordinaire. This year on August 15, 2015 the CCB ladies filled the Citadel Theatre for the We Have Your King: The Elvis Abduction Story. The show was a hit and without any bias, I believe they are some of the best burlesque you’ll find.

I hope your Summer was spectacular!
