It was another busy Wedding Season but I am back and I am setting an intention to write and post to my blog a little more often during Fall and Winter.
When planning a wedding, it is helpful to have some visuals of what they like to guide the process. It is equally as valuable to me to know what the couple doesn’t like, so if you haven’t found a style that you love but you have seen things you don’t like, or can’t stand, bring that information to me.
Bridal Magazines and Pinterest are both excellent resources for inspiration. If you are seeing it in a big magazine or on Pinterest, your friends have seen it too. Don’t copycat! My job as a wedding stylist is to use the inspiration that you find and to create a style that is truly unique to you. A few of my favourite online resources for weddings inspiration are:
Brides.com offers information on rings, fashion, makeup, ceremony, reception, registry and more. Information on this site is constantly being updated bringing you the most up to date news and advice.
TheKnot.com is practical guide to wedding planning and has information about everything wedding and honeymoon. On this site you in addition to finding inspiration and ideas, you can budget, find vendors and more.
WeddingBells.ca is a Canadian resource that shares real weddings, along with information on planning, style, travel and fashion. Information on this site is up to date and you can search by Canadian city to find examples of local weddings and vendors in your area.
100layercake.com is an American website that offers inspiration and resources for weddings and other party planning, they offer tons of ideas along with a lot of excellent DIY instructions and tutorials.
RockMyWedding.co.uk is a European website that features real wedding for inspiration. This site also includes wedding planning information and DIY project tutorials
WeddingChicks.com has inspiration for all things wedding including a section dedicated to bridesmaid dresses and Free Printables. Information on this site is beautifully laid out with focus on the flowers, cake, and invitations, but also on the people.
In addition to the really large mainstream websites, blogs (like mine) can be helpful for finding more bespoke ideas and inspiration. Search for bloggers in your area or the area where you are planning your wedding to find relevant information and ideas.
